From: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Material innovation, plastic pollution and hands-on artmaking frame The Wolfsonian’s June edition of Miami Beach Culture Crawl. Miami Beach Culture Crawl: Waves of Change takes place Thursday, June 18, as part of the citywide monthly program connecting South Beach arts and culture venues through free evening programming. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in Miami Beach, with complimentary trolley service available near participating locations.
At The Wolfsonian, the evening explores the history and impact of synthetic materials. A 6:15 p.m. tour led by chief librarian Francis Luca and interpretation specialist Molly Channon highlights objects that trace modern material innovation and the rise of engineered substances.
The program continues at 7 p.m. with a hands-on workshop presented with Clean Miami Beach. Participants will create ocean-inspired artwork using found objects while learning how plastic pollution affects Miami’s coastal environment.
