Miami MoCAAD's Interactive Mural & Penalty Kick Soccer Game
This event has passed.
Join the Miami Museum of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora (Miami MoCAAD) as they celebrate the unveiling of a new mural titled Overtown Pitch: Game Changers.
This free event takes place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the historic Carver Hotel building in Overtown and offers both in-person and virtual attendance options.
The centerpiece of the evening is the unveiling of the Overtown Pitch: Game Changers mural, a mural by artist Stefan Smith. Inspired by the Miami Edison High Girls Soccer Team's achievements, the mural pays homage to those who advocate for change, equality and inclusivity in the sport. This innovative mural integrates augmented reality, allowing viewers to participate in a virtual penalty kick soccer game within the artwork itself.
The evening also features a Creative Conversation with the artist, Stefan Smith, and curator Donnamarie Baptiste, offering insights into the mural's creation and its significance. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be ample opportunities to mingle.
This event serves as a fundraiser for the Little Haiti Football Club / Miami Edison Girls Soccer Team, providing valuable support to young athletes.
