Mictlán 2026: Día de los Muertos
Oct 31, 2026
From: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Monumental marigold arches, Catrina figures, live performances and a large communal altar transform Ponce Circle Park into an immersive celebration of Día de los Muertos. Mictlán 2026 takes place Saturday, October 31, bringing Mexican traditions of remembrance into a contemporary public setting through art, music, ritual and community participation. The event is presented in collaboration with the Consulate General of Mexico in Miami and the City of Coral Gables.
Visitors will move through a series of themed areas across the park, including the Market of Memory with food, drinks and crafts, eight monumental Catrinas, animated digital installations and a main stage for dance, music and storytelling. At the center of the experience is a 360-degree altar designed as a gathering place for remembrance and offerings. Interactive elements also invite visitors to contribute to the visual landscape of the celebration.
Programming includes a Catrina welcome and presentation, an altar visit and offering ritual, live performance, a runway presentation and a closing Fiesta de los Muertos musical gathering. Rooted in a Mexican tradition recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, the event centers the customs of honoring loved ones through flowers, candles, food, music and shared remembrance.
