A curator-led gallery tour at Freedom Tower Miami offers visitors deeper insight into the exhibitions currently on view. MOAD Tours with Isabela Villanueva takes place Saturday, May 2.
Led by Isabela Villanueva, consulting curator at the Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College, the one-hour tour provides behind-the-scenes context on selected artworks and the curatorial ideas shaping the exhibitions presented in the historic landmark. Participants will learn more about the themes, artistic approaches and historical references connected to the works on display.
Villanueva is a Venezuelan-born art historian and curator specializing in modern and contemporary Latin American art. Her curatorial work includes the MOAD Pavilion series featuring artists such as GeoVanna Gonzalez, Germane Barnes and Rafael Domenech. She previously served on the curatorial team for the 30th São Paulo Biennial and worked as assistant curator at the Americas Society Art Gallery in New York.
The program is included with Freedom Tower admission. Complimentary parking is available at the Miami Dade College garage at 500 NE Second Avenue.
