A beloved MGM classic brings music, family and nostalgia to the screen at The Wolfsonian–FIU.
On Thursday, October 16, Museum and a Movie presents Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), the Judy Garland musical set during the 1904 World’s Fair that captures a year in the life of the Smith family. Audiences can arrive early for a 6:15 p.m. guided tour of the exhibition World’s Fairs: Visions of Tomorrow before settling in for the film, which introduced standards like “The Trolley Song,” “The Boy Next Door” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
Presented with the Miami Film Festival and supported by the City of Miami Beach, the program pairs cinema with cultural history in a uniquely immersive evening.
