MUVE Volunteer Workday
Aug 15, 2026
From: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Native planting, beach cleanup and community science give volunteers a hands-on role in restoring coastal habitat at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. This edition of the recurring series takes place Saturday, August 15 and is organized by Frost Science’s Museum Volunteers for the Environment.
Participants will plant native species and remove debris from the shoreline as part of the Miami Community ResilientSea Project, which connects science, education and grassroots action to support habitat restoration and climate resilience across Miami-Dade County. Tools and materials will be provided, and volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and clothing suitable for outdoor work.
Community service hours are available. Complimentary parking is provided at the park, and participants must complete the Frost Science liability waiver during online registration.
