From: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
An exhibition celebrating the imagery and daily life of Haiti will open at the Haitian Heritage Museum this spring, inviting visitors to experience the country's cultural and historical landscapes through vibrant works of art.
Nostalgia Primitive D'Haiti Deux will be on view from May 13 through November 15 at the Haitian Heritage Museum. Launching with an opening reception on Saturday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m., the exhibition features oil-on-canvas paintings that depict market scenes, rural life and the natural beauty of Haiti. Artists including Dubinsson, Fritzner, Hector, Obin and Dambreville offer distinct perspectives, using expressive brushstrokes and vivid color palettes to capture the spirit and vitality of the island.
Presented in honor of Haitian Heritage Month, the exhibition invites audiences to engage with sensory memories and cultural narratives that reflect Haiti’s enduring vibrancy and resilience.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the Haitian Heritage Museum notes ongoing efforts to support cultural preservation projects impacted by recent funding cuts. Donations will assist in completing the Roger L. Farnham Project, which focuses on restoring important historical documents linked to the Haitian experience.
