From: 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Cyclists and community members are invited to participate in a special edition of the Get in Gear Community Bike Ride, celebrating Haitian Heritage Month. This event offers an opportunity to engage in physical activity while honoring the cultural contributions of the Haitian community.
The 2025 Pedalé 1804 Bike Ride is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, beginning at MOCA Plaza in North Miami. The ride covers a distance of 18.04 miles, symbolizing the year 1804 when Haiti became the first independent Black republic. Participants will cycle through North Miami, North Miami Beach and Miami, passing by significant Haitian American landmarks. The route includes stops at the Toussaint Louverture Monument, Little Haiti Cultural Arts Center and Green Space Miami, among others.
For those who prefer not to ride, the event also features a Wellness Oasis at MOCA Plaza, offering low-impact workouts, health and wellness vendors, and a farmers market showcasing Haitian-owned businesses.
The Pedalé 1804 Bike Ride is part of the City of North Miami’s Haitian Heritage Month programming, aimed at promoting community engagement and celebrating Haitian culture. Registration for the event is free, but space is limited. Interested participants are encouraged to reserve their spots in advance.
