Protoje & The Indiggnation with Jesse Royal

A leading voice of Jamaica’s reggae revival brings a night of contemporary roots, conscious lyricism and global influence to the Miami Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach.

Presented as The Reggae Invasion, the evening features Protoje with his longtime backing band, The Indiggnation, alongside acclaimed Jamaican artist Jesse Royal. Known for bridging classic reggae foundations with elements of hip-hop, soul and jazz, Protoje emerged as a central figure of the modern reggae movement with the breakthrough track “Who Knows” featuring Chronixx. His work has since earned international recognition, including Grammy nominations for A Matter of Time and Third Time’s the Charm, and collaborations with artists such as Koffee, Jorja Smith and Alicia Keys.

Sharing the bill, Jesse Royal brings a powerful roots-driven sound shaped by conscious themes and Rastafarian tradition. His debut album Lily of Da Valley topped the U.S. Billboard Reggae Albums chart, while Royal received a Grammy nomination, solidifying his place among today’s most respected reggae voices.

Set in the open-air setting of the Miami Beach Bandshell, this performance highlights the continuing evolution of reggae as a global, forward-looking genre while honoring its cultural roots.
