Various showtimes.
Miami Light Project's cinematic celebration of dance returns for its 12th edition. ScreenDance Miami 2026, taking place from January 21-25, brings together a diverse lineup of feature films, short programs and workshops from around the world. Curated by Pioneer Winter, the festival highlights the intersection of dance and film while supporting professionals in the development of dance for the camera.
The festival’s programming, which is still being finalized, kicks off with a screening of Through by Monique Léger & Béatriz Médiavilla and Si C’était De L’amour / If It Was Love by Patric Chiha & Gisèle Vienne on Wednesday, January 21 at the Miami Beach Bandshell.
Pioneer Winter, a Miami-based choreographer and artistic director of Pioneer Winter Collective, has directed the festival since 2017, establishing it as a cornerstone for showcasing dance on screen. With an emphasis on queer visibility and community-driven performance, Winter’s curatorial work has expanded the boundaries of dance presentation in both public spaces and formal venues. Winter’s own films have been presented internationally, and in addition to curating ScreenDance Miami, he serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Florida International University.
