Serenade to Motherhood
May 09, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
Women composers across centuries shape a Mother’s Day Eve choral program centered on motherhood, womanhood and inner light. Presented by Miami Collegium Musicum, Serenade to Motherhood takes place Saturday, May 9 at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables. The concert marks the ensemble’s third annual Mother’s Day-themed performance.
The program features works by female composers from the Medieval period to the present day, with Elaine Hagenberg’s Illuminare serving as the central work. Miami Collegium Musicum will be joined for the piece by the Falcon Singers of John A. Ferguson Senior High School, a student choir that has recently performed at Carnegie Hall.
The evening is designed as a reflective and celebratory concert, using choral music to explore themes of care, resilience and the many dimensions of womanhood.
