Signs of the Times: A Solo Exhibition by WEERDO
This event has passed.
Graffiti-inspired works on traffic and street signs become a lens for exploring migration, resistance and Mexican identity in a new exhibition by Miami-based artist WEERDO. Layering ancestral imagery such as serpents, skulls, pyramids and feathers with contemporary themes of struggle and survival, his pieces transform familiar urban symbols into cultural narratives.
Curated by Alan Ket, Signs of the Times traces WEERDO’s artistic evolution, presenting early works, mixed-media pieces and a site-specific installation. Born in Mexico and raised in Miami, WEERDO has built a practice that merges his street art roots with explorations of heritage and identity, making his work both personal and socially resonant. The exhibition opens Saturday, September 6 at the Museum of Graffiti, with an opening night celebration featuring music and drinks by El Tequileño in the museum’s Wynwood space.
