Slow Art Day
Apr 11, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
A day of guided looking, meditation and hands-on workshops invites visitors to engage more deeply with art at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU. Part of the global Slow Art Day initiative, the program encourages participants to spend time observing and reflecting on artworks at a slower pace.
Taking place Saturday, April 11, the event features a series of scheduled activities inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions. Highlights include a guided meditation led by Isabel Alfonsin-Vittoria, an accordion bookmaking workshop with Nicole Combeau using archival imagery and a session on portraiture with Diego Waisman examining how photographs convey meaning. The program concludes with a live activation of Eduardo Navarro’s Cloud Museum, weather permitting.
Free and open to the public, the event offers multiple ways to explore art through contemplation, discussion and creative practice.
