Son Rompe Pera
This event has passed.
See Mexican psychobilly marimberos Son Rompe Pera perform their infectuous punkified cumbia at the Miami Beach Bandshell on Thursday, September 21. Venezuelan musician, Venezonix, known for blending Afro-Venezuelan rhythms with electronic music, will be performing the opening set. This free concert starts at 7:00 PM
Hailing from the outskirts of Mexico City, the Gama brothers are continuing the legacy of marimba music that runs through their family. Originally performing alongside their father at local events as kids, they now find themselves at the forefront of the contemporary international cumbia scene with their sonic explorations of the classic marimba. Listeners are urged to their feet by the band's unique style of garage-marimba-cumbia rock, played on the historic marimba like no one has ever heard or seen before.
