STEM Challenge Expo
Apr 18, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
A free science fair showcases student innovation and emerging technology through hands-on projects and public presentations inside a museum setting.
STEM Challenge Expo takes place Saturday, April 18 at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, serving as the culminating event of the museum’s year-long STEM Challenge program for middle and high school students. The initiative invites students and educators to explore real-world scientific questions, with this year’s challenge focused on how emerging technologies can advance scientific discovery.
During the expo, students whose projects advanced through the initial judging round present their work to a panel of judges as well as to museum guests. The event also includes participation from community partners and local exhibitors, offering a broader view of STEM learning pathways and applications. The expo is free to attend and is held in the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery on the museum’s first floor; museum admission is not included.
