Stephen Dean VOLTA Screening & Conversation

Large-scale video art meets public gathering at SoundScape Park in Miami Beach with a screening tied to the cultural energy surrounding the FIFA World Cup. Stephen Dean VOLTA Screening & Conversation takes place Friday, June 12 at SoundScape Park, located next to the New World Center.

Presented by the City of Miami Beach, the program features a screening of VOLTA, a 2003 work by artist Stephen Dean, followed by a conversation with Pérez Art Museum Miami Director Franklin Sirmans. The evening explores connections between contemporary art, sports, global culture and shared public space.

The screening will be shown on the New World Center’s WALLCAST screen, a signature feature of SoundScape Park that allows audiences to experience visual and performing arts outdoors. VOLTA will also screen on the WALLCAST on dates when FIFA World Cup matches take place in Miami-Dade County.
