Summer Opening
May 02, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
An evening reception at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU marks the opening of its summer exhibition season with a range of new installations and programs. Taking place Saturday, May 2, the event offers visitors an opportunity to explore multiple exhibitions spanning different time periods, geographies and artistic approaches in a single visit.
The program includes Invitation to Openness, an immersive listening room examining collaboration in music; Modern Cuban Painters from Havana to New York Revisited, which explores the international emergence of Cuban modernism in the 1940s; and Social Presence, the museum’s annual MFA thesis exhibition featuring new work by a graduating FIU artist.
Open to the public, the reception provides a first look at the museum’s summer programming in a gallery setting.
