Audience participation and personal storytelling shape an immersive performance by mixed-media artist Daniela Dohnert at MIA Curatorial Projects in Little River. Presented Saturday, September 19, The Walls We Build invites viewers into a collaborative experience that considers the personal and emotional boundaries people construct around themselves.
Dohnert is known for combining fused glass with acrylic painting in work that explores emotional transformation, nature and inner resilience. For this performance, she moves beyond the static artwork to incorporate participants’ responses and personal anecdotes, making the audience part of the evolving piece.
The program is presented by MIA Curatorial Projects, a Miami-based platform focused on contemporary art and emerging artistic practices.
