Tracing Art Deco Forms Across Time: From Vision to Creation
Sep 17, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Artist Noel Suarez examines how visual references, recurring forms and early ideas develop into finished paintings and larger bodies of work during a talk at the Art Deco Museum in Miami Beach. Presented Thursday, September 17, by the Miami Design Preservation League, the program offers a closer look at the decisions and experimentation that shape Suarez’s creative process.
Using examples from his own practice, Suarez will trace how an initial source of inspiration can be interpreted, revised and carried across multiple works over time. The discussion also considers how individual compositions relate to one another and gradually form a broader artistic series.
The program complements Noel Suarez: Not a Retrospective, currently on view at the Art Deco Museum, giving visitors additional context for the ideas and visual language behind the exhibition. Admission is free.
