Video Drive By: Artist Talk
Apr 06, 2026
Starting: 6:30 PM
An artist talk exploring video art, technology and site-specific practice brings together three contemporary artists at the Miami Beach Bandshell. Taking place Monday, April 6 on Miami Beach, the program is presented by Bas Fisher Invitational as part of its Video Drive-By series, which transforms the Bandshell’s canopy into a projection surface for large-scale video works. The evening includes a moderated conversation, audience Q&A and a DJ set.
Artists Marisa Olson, Aaron Young and Becca Albee will discuss the concepts and processes behind their featured works, with the conversation led by curator Naomi Fisher. Olson, who coined the term “post-internet,” examines digital culture and power structures through media-based work. Young presents video tied to his motorcycle-driven painting practice, while Albee’s work draws on environmental themes through footage of horseshoe crabs and their ecological significance.
The event also features music by DJ Oly Vargas before and after the talk, offering a social component alongside the discussion.
