Virrick Park Living History Day
Sep 26, 2026
From: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Community memory, public space and design come together during a hands-on program at Elizabeth Virrick Park in Coconut Grove. Presented Saturday, September 26 by the FIU Public Humanities Lab, Virrick Park Committee and FIU School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture students, the event is part of a national Living History Day initiative centered on place, storytelling and community participation.
Visitors can explore design prototypes developed by FIU students in response to questions about connection, neighborhood identity and the built environment. The program also invites community members to share feedback, memories and local knowledge that may help inform new ideas for the park while preserving the stories and relationships tied to it.
Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
