Don’t Miss These Events In Miami During The Month Of May

Spring is in full swing during May. That means outdoor events aplenty, exciting concerts and the annual orchid show and a variety of family-friendly festivals. It’s still Miami Attractions & Museums month throughout May, so take advantage of this time to visit Miami’s top cultural destinations with deep savings available on admission and memberships. Check out the many attractions and museums that are offering special rates and programs during the entire month of May.

III Points Festival:
May 1 - 2

You’ll find Miami’s cool kids at III Points Festival (pronounced Three Points). They’ll be immersed in art experiences, watching the laser light shows, supporting their favorite local acts and flocking to the main stage for headliner performances by The Strokes, Robyn, Wu Tang Clan and Disclosure plus dozens more. The festival is held at Mana Wynwood and is a two-day event with tickets starting at $89 for single-day general admission and $159 for single-day VIP.

All Kids Included Family Arts Festival: May 2

Be inspired by the transformative magic of letting your creativity run wild at this free event designed to immerse kids in the arts. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center is hosting the 14th edition of the All Kids Included Family Arts Festival on their backyard concert lawn and plaza, which will include art programming and activities for children with and without disabilities. Face painting, music making, rock climbing and memorable performances are just a few of the onsite activities. Admission is free.

New Times Brew At The Zoo: May 2

More than one hundred unlimited craft beers from the best local, national and international brewers are waiting for you to taste them at Brew at the Zoo. The largest beer festival in Miami is back. Sip on a few cold ones and enjoy live music at the Miami New Times’ and Zoo Miami’s annual craft beer festival. There will be plenty of food stands from local vendors onsite for you to munch on between brews. Brew at the Zoo will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. General admission tickets start at $25 and VIP access is $80 per person. Come back with your Brew at the Zoo ticket for 50% off zoo admission.

Cinco De Mayo: May 5

Time for some guacamole and a margarita? Let’s celebrate Cinco de Mayo the Miami way with a fun and feisty fiesta in Wynwood. This year’s block party, the biggest Cinco de Mayo party in South Florida, will take place at the Wynwood Marketplace. There will be food trucks, giant margaritas, a mariachi band, live music and more. The event is free, party packs are available which give you drinks and fiesta favors.

H.O.T. Challenge Golf Tournament: May 8

Join the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau for the Hospitality Open Golf Tournament (H.O.T.) Challenge Golf Tournament at the Miami Beach Golf Club. All proceeds from this golf event help benefit the Black Hospitality Initiative (BHI) African-American Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to encouraging and boosting participation by African Americans in Miami-Dade County’s visitor industry. Rolling Loud Festival: May 8-10

Rolling Loud Festival is back at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and this year’s lineup features headliners A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, and Post Malone, 21 Savage, Rick Ross, Young Thug, Big Sean, Lil Uzi Vert, Tyga, Gucci Mane and the list goes on and on. The festival has a reputation as the best hip hop festival in the country and maybe the world. General admission tickets sell out quickly, VIP access is available. Purchase tickets before the event sells out.

Haitian Compas Festival: May 13 - 18

Celebrate the sounds of Haiti at the annual, weeklong Haitian Compas Festival, featuring dozens of the best musicians from Haiti. Events include a welcome party, block parties, Saturday’s official festival on May 16, 2020, the Haitian Compas Fest Brunch & Day Party, and Sunday’s All White Affair on May 17, 2020. Tickets start at $45 for the concert, plus there are special packages that include access to official parties.

Redland International Orchid Show: May 15-17

Head to the lushly landscaped Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead for one of the largest annual orchid shows in the country where more than 60 vendors have orchids for sale and a competitive contest brings out of some the world’s orchidists. The Redland International Orchid Show is a three-day event open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. so be sure to catch a class or a lecture as part of the show. Tickets are available at the door for $10 per person or purchase a three-day pass for $25.

Memorial Day weekend hosts one of the hottest events on the LGBTQ party circuit. Sizzle South Beach, previously known as Sizzle Miami, features five days of events including pool parties, a yacht soiree, comedy brunch and more. Whether in a dance club, on the beach, at the National Hotel, or aboard a yacht, there are a variety of venues to party. Ticket prices vary depending on the event.

Hyndai’s Air & Sea Show and The Musical Explosion: May 23-24

Happening on Memorial Day Weekend, the National Salute to America’s Heroes presented by Hyundai is anchored by the Air & Sea Show a two-day event on Miami Beach showcasing and saluting all five branches of the United States military with jet flyovers and stunts, showcases of new military technology, extreme water sports and more. Dubbed “The Musical Explosion,” there will also be a concert with the U.S Army Band, U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team, U.S. Honor Guard Drill Team and pop artists performing on stage while jets fly overhead. Expect fireworks, sand sculpting, lumberjack shows, motocross exhibition and a kids fun zone. The event is free and open to the public.

Best Of The Best Music Fest: May 24

Featuring local and national acts, the annual Best of the Best Music Fest showcases bands across a range of genres including hip-hop, reggae, pop and more. This year’s lineup includes Spice, Koffee, Shenseea, Lady G and more. The concert takes place on the waterfront at Miami’s Bayfront Park. General admission tickets are available for $40 and VIP tickets start at $140.

Memorial Day: May 25

Not only is Memorial Day a federal holiday dedicated to remembering those who gave their life while serving in the armed forces, it’s also the unofficial kick-off for summer vacation season.
