The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is located in Downtown Miami’s Museum Park overlooking Biscayne Bay. It’s one of the only science museums to boast both a planetarium and an aquarium. The 250,000-square-foot campus also features rooftop terraces for stargazing and urban farming, as well as six floors of fascinating interactive exhibitions. Your family will be dazzled by the 500,000 gallon Gulf Stream aquarium with its resident hammerhead sharks and devil rays, as well as by the Frost Planetarium as it whisks you away to another galaxy using cutting edge 8K technology.

Bayside Marketplace

Home to more than 150 shops and a dozen restaurants, it’s also the embarkation point for a handful of boat tours, including Thriller speedboats and Island Queen cruise tours. It’s a great place for a family with kids to spend an afternoon on land and at sea!

Miami Children’s Museum

For the artistically inclined kids in your family, snag tickets to a touring Broadway production or a performance by local companies like Zoetic Stages, Miami City Ballet, New World Symphony or the Florida Grand Opera. When you expose your kids to theater at an early age, you’ll create a lifelong lover of the arts.

Perez Art Museum Miami

The Perez Art Museum Miami, located at Museum Park overlooking Biscayne Bay, is home to Miami’s premier contemporary art collection. The museum’s grounds—with their fun swinging chairs, benches, stadium seating and site-specific installations—are as alluring as the art collection itself. Check the calendar for special kids programming including hands-on arts and crafts and educational experiences. The museum is also home to Verde restaurant for a casual kid-friendly lunch with beautiful views of Biscayne Bay.

Modeled after Seville, Spain’s Giralda Cathedral bell tower, the ornamental Mediterranean Revival façade stands out amongst Downtown’s modern glass skyscrapers. Today, it’s home to Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art + Design with a permanent exhibit on the Cuban diaspora, as well as many thought-provoking visiting exhibitions.
