Spice & Spa At Miami Hotels for a Perfect Day

Summer is heating up in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, and Miami Spa Months and Miami Spice Restaurant Months are back with special promotions at participating spas and restaurants. During Miami Spa Months in July and August, participating spas offer select services at discounted rates of $109, $159 and $199. During Miami Spice in August and September, participating restaurants offer special three-course prix fixe menus at $35/$45 for lunch and brunch and $45/$60 for dinner. With several participating spas and restaurants located in the destination’s top hotels, you can take advantage of a full day of fun and savings when you book at destinations within the same hotel.

The Palms Aveda Spa
The Palms Hotel & Spa is a classic Mid Beach resort with old world Florida glamour surrounded by nature, and The Palms Aveda Spa is a destination for holistic wellness and traditional Ayurvedic treatments designed to awaken the senses and balance the mind, body and spirit. During Miami Spa Months, it’s offering select massages and facials Sunday through Friday. The Intense Hydrating Facial (50 minutes, $159) includes a hydrating eye mask and LED light therapy to minimize fine lines and wrinkles and optimize hydration. The Stress Fix Massage (80 min., $199) combines Swedish massage techniques with lavender and sage aromatherapy, warm stones and foot reflexology, as well as a collagen face mask. Other special treatments are available. Booking a treatment at the spa grants you access to the resort’s pool and dedicated beach service.

Essensia
With an emphasis on sourcing local, organic seasonal ingredients, Essensia is one of Miami’s premier farm-to-table restaurants. The lovely dining room extends to a back patio overlooking the hotel’s tropical gardens. During Miami Spice, there’s plenty to choose from as Essencia is offering $35 brunch prix fixe menus on Saturdays and Sundays, $35 lunch menus on weekdays, $40 dinner menus Sundays through Thursdays, and $65 dinner menus on Fridays and Saturdays. With so much to choose from, we’re most excited for the blackened yellowtail snapper on both dinner menus, the za’atar chicken kebab during weekday dinners and the orange blossom French toast for brunch. The tropical summer salad with mango, local corn and avocado is a great way to start almost any meal here, and seasonal gelato and sorbet is a sweet finish.

Acqualina Spa
Acqualina Resort & Residences on the Beach is a classic luxury resort in Sunny Isles Beach that’s home to an award-winning spa, multiple restaurants and spacious suites. With a tranquil hydrotherapy circuit, including a crystal steam room, dry Finnish sauna, Arctic ice fountain and experience showers, as well as an outdoor plunge pool and jacuzzi, Acqualina Spa provides a true day spa experience. During Miami Spa Months, it’s offering a range of specialty treatments Monday through Saturday. The Summer Detoxifying Hydrafacial (40 min., $199) provides deep cleansing and serious hydration through HydraFacial’s proprietary technology. There’s also the Summer Soothing Swedish Massage (50 min., $199) as well as hydrating and detoxifying body wraps (45 min., $159).

Il Mulino New York
For upscale Italian in the lap of luxury, Il Mulino New York is a romantic destination for sumptuous pastas that will transport you to New York City, all while dining in an opulent oceanfront resort. During Miami Spice Restaurant Months, Il Mulino is serving prix fixe $35 lunches and $60 dinners all week long. For dinner, choose between rigatoni Bolognese, pollo alla parmigiana, veal marsala and sauteed grouper. Lunchtime entrees are just as tempting, with linguine al pomodoro, red snapper, eggplant ricotta and more. For dessert, cannoli is on both menus, and classic tiramisu is on the dinner menu.

mySpa
A classic hotel in the heart of Downtown Miami, the Intercontinental Miami occupies a privileged perch overlooking Biscayne Bay. mySpa is a peaceful haven for some much-needed me time. During Miami Spa Months, it’s offering specials on facials and massages every day, including a Vitamin C Facial (75 min., $199) with LED red/blue light therapy, a collagen mask and soothing Gua Sha massage featuring Dr. Dennis Gross products. There’s also the Hot Stones Aromatherapy Massage (50 min., $159), which includes a scalp massage and foot rub for total body rejuvenation.
Toro Toro
Helmed by acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval and located in the InterContinental’s glittering lobby, Toro Toro is a stylish steakhouse with a pan-Latin perspective. During Miami Spice, indulge in a $60 prix fixe dinner menu any night of the week and enjoy short rib al carbon, local red snapper al mojo or Cusco roasted chicken for your entree. Starters are just as tempting, with options like lobster empanadas, coconut tuna tiradito and birria bao buns. For dessert, the choice is yours between a creative spin on key lime pie with a kick of tequila or palate-cleansing strawberries and cream.
