From runners to yoga aficionados, divers, beach volleyball players and more, Miami has something for every type of health and fitness fanatic. Here’s how to keep bikini-body ready all year round.

Where to Workout

Looking for somewhere to workout or rejuvenate? You’re in luck, as sunny Miami Beach has a variety of trendy gyms that keep exercise fun. SoulCycle South Beach, located inside 1 Hotel South Beach, is a 2,600-square-foot, 54-bike studio that lets riders burn fat, tone and release stress through high-intensity cardio and choreography to energy-pumping beats – and all on an exercise bike.

Another option located inside 1 Hotel South Beach, Anatomy Miami Beach, is the brainchild of former Jets and Patriots player, Marc Megna. As South Beach’s most luxurious health and fitness center, it has everything a gym-goer could ever need; from countless exercise classes, rooftop yoga and a decked-out weight room, to body fat to VO2 max testing, outside eating areas, a salon with hair blowouts, manicures and pedicures, a chiropractor, and a spa area with a steam room, infrared sauna, a cold therapy room, a cold plunge, a Jacuzzi and massage therapy.

At The Standard Spa, guests can try standup paddle boarding or sunrise yoga classes. The spa features a holistic approach to the mind, body and soul. And one of their main features is a waterfront hydrotherapy playground, so after you spend some time on the water, cool off with a little rest and relaxation in their Roman waterfall hot tub or Turkish-style hammam.

Gym Day Passes

Many of the top gyms and workout facilities offer day passes for travelers who are looking to get a work out in while on vacation. A popular pick for celebrities and socialites, Equinox is a high-end club that offers memberships that include access to locations nationwide. Or, if you’re not a member, you can sign up for a day pass by contacting a membership advisor, and then try out one of the clubs in Aventura Mall, Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables, Four Seasons Hotel Miami and in Brickell Heights.

Adding pampering to your health kick, some of Miami’s hottest hotels have day passes and glamorous fitness centers that promise to recharge your mind, body and soul. Head to one of the Exhale Spa locations (EPIC Hotel, Loews Miami Beach or The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour) and take one of the elite core fusion barre or yoga classes. Then detoxify your system with an Acu- Organ Detox, an abdominal massage-meets-acupuncture treatment that enhances energy and digestion.

Another option with more than a dozen locations throughout Miami, LA Fitness is a popular club with locals. They have five-day guest passes available for those interested in membership.

Where to Eat Healthy

Despite our mouthwatering international cuisine options, Miami has a lot of healthy eating options for diners to choose from. Head to one of the dozen Joe & The Juice locations for organic cold-pressed juices, superfood smoothies and artisan coffee.

With multiple locations throughout Miami, and centered around the idea that better eating leads to healthier individuals and a better society, Choices Café is a vegan restaurant that serves delicious organic breakfast burritos, power breakfast and acai bowls, avocado toast, quinoa Mexican wraps and more.

In Miami Beach, DIRT offers plenty of delicious healthy options. Chef Nicole Votano whips up an array of paleo-friendly, gluten-sensitive and vegan options. Favorites include almond butter toast and veggie bowls.

With four locations in Miami (South Beach, Edgewater, Coral Gables, Design District) Pura Vida is an excellent choice for leafy green salads and wraps, fresh juices, coffee, smoothies and all day breakfast. Heads up, they’re known for having the best acai in Miami.

Craving a sweet snack? Try Mariana Cortez’s Bunnie Cakes – a vegan, gluten-free and kosher bakery. Located in Midtown, it has large and small cupcakes, whoopie pies, doughnuts, small cakes, brownies, cakes in a jar, and cookies in interesting flavors like guava, banana choco chip, pink lemonade, mojito and strawberry 3-in-1, to name a few.

Located in Downtown Miami, Jar + Fork offers a combo of nutrient-rich juices and health-conscious dishes, including paleo-inspired meals.

Take It Outside

With Miami’s sunny weather all year round, the outdoors are your own personal gym. On Miami Beach, go for a sunset run or walk, play a rousing game of sand volleyball at the public courts at 8th Street and Ocean Drive, or wake up early and participate in complimentary beach yoga classes at 3rd Street and Ocean Drive.

If you’re in Downtown Miami or Brickell, head to Bayfront Park for more free outdoor yoga. A picturesque walk along the bay or Brickell Key is another great option. Or participate in one of the many citywide 5Ks or marathons.
