Any time of year is a good time to support Black-owned businesses in Greater Miami & Miami Beach. August – which is National Black Business Month – is an especially good time to do so. Discover Black-owned shops, restaurants, arts and culture, attractions and more and support local Black entrepreneurs and organizations in the destination.

AfriKin: This 501(c)3 nonprofit creates arts and culture programming that highlights emerging and established artists, focusing on African art and African diaspora art and information.

Annick Duvivier Art & Design: Haitian-born, Miami-based visual artist Annick Duvivier creates mixed-media collage paintings.

Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex: Legendary performers, such as Count Basie, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and others, have graced the stage of this historic theater in Historic Overtown, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Rent the facility to host performances, fundraisers, weddings, film premiers and parties.

Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator: The talents of emerging artists from the Caribbean and Latin diaspora are cultivated through artist-in-residence programs and other initiatives.

Hampton Art Lovers at Historic Ward Rooming House: This supporter of the arts is dedicated to promoting African American art and advocacy for Black arts.

Isaie “Zeek” Mathias: This Haitian-born artist & photographer celebrates his unique visual influences through photography and folk painting.

Libreri Mapou: This bookstore, gift shop, and cultural center, founded by Jan Mapou, a Haitian playwright, activist and leader of the Creole movement in Haiti, has been a cultural mainstay in the Little Haiti community since 1990.

Little Haiti Cultural Complex: A cultural hub dedicated to promoting Afro-Caribbean arts and culture. Shop in the Caribbean Marketplace, where local vendors sell authentic Haitian arts and crafts, food and more.

Mdotblake: Founded by Miami-based multimedia artist Marcus Blake, whose art can be seen on the streets of Miami.

Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE): This arts production company uses art exhibitions, workshops, festival production and cultural programming to showcase heritage experiences.

Black Police Precinct & Courthouse Museum: A landmark and museum in Historic Overtown, it features the memorabilia of the first Black police officers in the City of Miami.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church : The oldest African American Baptist church in Miami-Dade County is located in Coconut Grove's historic Little Bahamas area.
