Harvard historian Eric Moses Gurevitch delivers this year’s Annual Mahāvīra Nirvāṇa Lecture with a talk titled Worldly Sciences and Jains in the World. His scholarship examines the history of science, technology and medicine in medieval and early modern South Asia, highlighting the ways practical knowledge circulated across the Indian Ocean.
Annual Mahāvīra Nirvāṇa Lecture takes place Thursday, October 9 at Tamiami Hall, presented by the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs. Gurevitch is the author of the forthcoming book Everyday Sciences: Practical Knowledge and Knowledgeable Practice in South Asia and has received international recognition for his award-winning doctoral research on Sanskrit studies.
