Beethoven X Beyoncé
Nov 07, 2025
Starting: 9:00 PM
Classical music and contemporary pop collide in a genre-blending performance that reimagines the boundaries of the symphonic experience. Audiences can expect a full orchestral treatment of Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony infused with the melodies and rhythms of Beyoncé’s greatest hits.
Beethoven X Beyoncé, presented as part of the New World Symphony’s Late Night series, takes place on Friday, November 7 at the New World Center. The program is the creation of conductor, composer and producer Steve Hackman, known for fusing classical and popular music into bold hybrid works. Through innovative arrangements and transitions, Hackman weaves together themes from Beethoven’s symphony with vocal lines, harmonies and textures from Beyoncé’s catalog—resulting in a unified piece that is both interpretive and original.
Hackman’s past projects have paired Brahms with Radiohead, Tchaikovsky with Drake and Bartók with Björk, earning him a national reputation for redefining orchestral programming. His performances aim to bridge musical audiences and invite exploration across genres, and Beethoven X Beyoncé continues in that spirit with a live orchestral experience designed for a late-night crowd.
