CRUD, Holly Hunt, Devalued and Wasteland

A cross-section of Miami’s heavy underground comes together at Las Rosas for a free night spanning sludge, doom, psychedelic punk, hardcore and grind-influenced metal. Presented by Alternative MIA on Saturday, September 26, the lineup features CRUD, Holly Hunt, Wastelands and Devalued, with DJ Nuke’em All.

Formed in Miami in 2015, CRUD combines sludge and doom with punk and grindcore elements and is back in action following a four-year hiatus. The band is touring ahead of Human Decency, its second full-length album, due this fall through Totem Cat Records.

Holly Hunt, the instrumental duo of drummer Beatriz Monteavaro and guitarist Gavin Perry, has been part of Miami’s heavy-music landscape since 2010, building its sound around repetition, psychedelic drone and low-slung doom riffs. Wastelands brings a psychedelic-punk approach documented on its self-titled releases, while Devalued moves between crust, hardcore, grindcore and sludge, most recently on the 2022 album II – Host.

Admission is free, and the show is open to ages 21 and older.
