Free Second Saturdays: Juneteenth Celebration
Jun 13, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM
A family-friendly program at Pérez Art Museum Miami explores themes of history, identity and creative expression in recognition of Juneteenth. Taking place Saturday, June 13, Free Second Saturdays: Juneteenth Celebration features a day of art-making, guided tours and interactive activities.
The program centers on Derek Fordjour’s work Worst to Be First, part of the exhibition Get in the Game: Sports, Art, Culture, using it as a starting point for discussions about representation, resilience and storytelling. Visitors can join guided gallery tours focused on Black artists and participate in hands-on workshops that incorporate layered materials and mixed-media techniques.
Designed for all ages, the event combines educational and creative elements throughout the museum’s galleries and public spaces. Admission is free, with art activities offered during the afternoon.
