George Balanchine's The Nutcracker®

Tchaikovsky’s familiar score, elaborate sets and Balanchine’s choreography return to the Adrienne Arsht Center as Miami City Ballet presents its annual holiday production of The Nutcracker. Performances run December 11 through 27 in the Ziff Ballet Opera House, with the Miami City Ballet Orchestra performing the score live.

The production follows Marie’s journey from a Christmas Eve celebration into a dream world of battling mice, dancing Snowflakes and the Land of Sweets. Balanchine’s choreography places classical technique at the center of the spectacle, supported by large-scale scenery, colorful costumes and ensemble sequences that have made the ballet a seasonal staple.

Miami City Ballet presents George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® each December as one of its signature family productions and a recurring part of the holiday season in Miami.
