Haitian Heritage Month Kickoff Art Show
May 15, 2026
Starting: 6:00 PM
An evening of visual art, live performance and storytelling marks the start of Haitian Heritage Month celebrations at Chef Creole Seasoned Restaurant. Taking place Friday, May 15, the kickoff event launches Unity Fest 2026 with programming centered on Haitian culture and community.
The event features a curated art exhibition alongside theatrical presentations and live performances that reflect themes of history, identity and cultural legacy. Presented under the theme “The Haitian Story: A Legacy of Courage, A Future of Possibilities,” the program highlights both historical narratives and contemporary artistic expression.
Organized by Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE), the event is part of a broader series that brings together artists across Haitian, Caribbean and African diasporic traditions. The kickoff sets the stage for a month of multidisciplinary programming exploring cultural connections through art, music and performance.
