Harmony Korine in Conversation with Craig Robins and Alex Gartenfeld

Filmmaker and artist Harmony Korine discusses his work across cinema, painting, photography and experimental media in a conversation at ICA Miami. The Thursday, October 1 program brings Korine together with entrepreneur and philanthropist Craig Robins and ICA Miami Artistic Director Alex Gartenfeld as part of the museum’s ICA Speaks series.

Presented in conjunction with Harmony Korine: Perfect Nonsense, the first U.S. museum survey devoted to Korine’s multidisciplinary practice, the discussion will examine his approach to image-making, use of emerging technologies and movement between contemporary art and popular culture. It will also consider the influence of Miami, where Korine has lived since 2015, on his recent work through the experimental media company EDGLRD.

Korine first gained widespread attention as the screenwriter of Kids in 1995 and has since built a career defined by unconventional films and cross-disciplinary visual work. Harmony Korine: Perfect Nonsense remains on view at ICA Miami through October 18.
