Klezmer Romani & Gipsy Concert

Klezmer melodies, Romani musical traditions and flamenco dance come together in an orchestral program led by Maestro Jhonny Mendoza. The concert takes place Sunday, August 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Coral Gables Woman’s Club, featuring the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Miami.
The program explores expressive melodies, dance rhythms and orchestral arrangements associated with Eastern European Jewish and Romani music. Flamenco dancer Ani Mahia and students from the Ani Mahia Flamenco Dance Studio join the orchestra alongside vocalist Victoria Bazzocchi.
The concert is presented by Johmen Productions in collaboration with Proyecto Orquesta Sinfónica de la Florida and the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Miami. Early-bird admission is available through July 31, and all ticket sales are nonrefundable.
