Land, Text, Light: Out of the Vault
Through Sep 09, 2026
Wed: Noon to 1:00 PM | By appointment
Works by five American artists examine land, language, storytelling, light and perception through painting, photography and mixed media at Miami Dade College’s Padrón Campus Art Gallery. The exhibition runs from July 13 through September 9 in Building 3, Room 3113 and is presented by the Museum of Art and Design as part of its Out of the Vault series. It also contributes to Miami Dade College’s America250 programming commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Featured artists Lynne Golob Gelfman, Pat Lipsky, Emilio Sanchez, Xaviera Simmons and Purvis Young each approach the human condition through distinct visual languages. Recent donations by Gelfman and Simmons will be shown by the college for the first time, alongside works that are rarely displayed and others previously included in MOAD exhibitions.
The gallery is open Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. and by appointment. Free parking is available in the Padrón Campus lot at 2501 SW Sixth Street.
