Celebrate the rhythms and rich musical heritage of Latin America as the Miami Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of orchestral works shaped by folkloric tradition, innovation and cross-cultural flair.
Latin American Soundscapes takes place Sunday, February 1 in the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Under the direction of Maestro Eduardo Marturet, the program features Venezuelan electric bassist Rodner Padilla and pianist Juan Diego Molina in a dynamic mix of premieres and enduring favorites.
The evening includes the world premieres of Concerto for Electric Bass by Padilla and Rosa Prima by Dr. Santiago Bonora, both commissioned by MISO for its 2026 season, as well as the U.S. premiere of Federico Vollmer’s Jarro Mocho for solo piano and orchestra, arranged by Marturet. Additional works include Marturet’s Canto LLano, Carreño’s Margariteña and Márquez’s beloved Danzón No. 2.
