Singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer Lexa Gates brings her genre-fluid sound to Midline Miami, presenting a live set shaped by emotional directness, sharp lyricism and DIY ambition.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Gates began writing melodies and songs in childhood before sharing her early work on SoundCloud, where she started releasing music in 2019. Largely self-produced from a home studio, her work blends elements of alternative R&B, hip-hop and pop with an unguarded, diaristic edge. Her recent project, Universe Wrapped in Flesh, continues that trajectory, pairing raw vocal delivery with experimental production and introspective themes. Breakout track “Angel” has drawn particular attention for its vulnerability and restraint, helping expand her audience beyond underground circles.
The performance takes place Thursday, April 23 at Midline Miami in Wynwood, a large-format venue known for spotlighting forward-looking artists across music and culture.
