Little Haiti History and Culture Walk
May 16, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
A guided walking tour during Haitian Heritage Month explores the history, culture and community life of Little Haiti. The Little Haiti History and Culture Walk takes place Saturday, May 16, beginning at the Little Haiti Cultural Center.
Led by HistoryMiami Museum City Tours Guide and Multicultural Tourism Ambassador Jean Dondy Cidelca, the tour examines the neighborhood’s role as a cultural hub for the Haitian diaspora in South Florida. Participants will learn about the area’s development while visiting sites such as the Little Haiti Cultural Center’s galleries and the Caribbean Marketplace, where Haitian-owned businesses, art and cuisine contribute to the district’s vibrant character.
Cidelca, an architectural historian and preservation advocate, brings extensive knowledge of Miami’s neighborhoods and cultural heritage to the experience. His work documenting historic residential architecture and community history in Little Haiti has earned recognition from preservation and cultural organizations.
The ticket includes a complimentary family pass to HistoryMiami Museum. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a water bottle are recommended.
