Miami International GuitART Festival: Caribbean Dreams
Feb 19, 2026
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Afro-Caribbean and Venezuelan musical traditions anchor an evening of strings and voice shaped by shared histories, migration and cultural exchange.
Miami International GuitART Festival: Caribbean Dreams takes place Thursday, February 19 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center at FIU as part of the XI Miami International GuitART Festival. The concert brings together Venezuelan cuatrista and composer Héctor Molina with singer Luciana Kube, bassist Elvis Martínez and guest vocalist Guillermo Faccioli for a program that blends Afro-Caribbean repertoire with elements of jazz and popular traditions.
Led by Molina, a Latin Grammy–winning composer and member of the internationally recognized C4 Trío, the performance highlights the cuatro alongside voice and strings in a dialogue centered on memory, movement and cultural identity. Luciana Kube, a Venezuelan singer, scholar and FIU faculty member, contributes a perspective rooted in both performance and research on Latin American musical traditions. Bassist Elvis Martínez brings decades of orchestral and collaborative experience, including a 26-year tenure with the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra and extensive international work across experimental, traditional and Grammy-winning projects. Tenor Guillermo Faccioli, an FIU alumnus, adds a vocal dimension shaped by Venezuelan and Latin American choral traditions.
The concert is part of a weeklong festival featuring daily concerts, master classes, lectures and a luthiers expo on the FIU campus.
