miniMakers: Mini Zines!
Oct 03, 2026
From: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Young artists can turn a single sheet of paper into an eight-page mini zine during a hands-on workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. Presented Saturday, October 3 as part of MOCA’s recurring miniMakers series, the session celebrates National Arts and Humanities Month through DIY storytelling and self-expression.
Children will learn how to fold, cut and assemble a zine before filling its pages with drawings, words, comics, collage or a combination of their choosing. The workshop also introduces zines as an independent publishing format artists have long used to circulate ideas and creative work using simple materials.
miniMakers takes place on the first Saturday of each month and offers free artmaking activities inspired by artists, art history, current MOCA exhibitions and seasonal themes. The program is designed for children ages 6–12 and their caregivers. RSVP is requested.
