Monty Alexander: Jamaica to Jazz
Feb 21, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
Jazz and Caribbean rhythm come together as Monty Alexander takes the stage at The Moss Center for an evening that traces his musical journey from Jamaica to jazz.
A pioneer of early Jamaican popular music, Alexander began performing in Kingston’s first recording studios in the 1950s, helping shape the sounds that evolved into ska and reggae. After moving to the United States, he built a storied career collaborating with legends such as Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis, blending the spirit of jazz with the warmth of island grooves.
Monty Alexander: Jamaica to Jazz takes place Saturday, February 21 at The Moss Center. VIP tickets include premium table seating and a complimentary wine, beer or soft drink.
