MSPC Music Series: Wendy Pedersen and Jim Gasior

Soulful jazz vocals and piano close out Miami Shores Presbyterian Church’s annual Summer Music Series with a performance by Wendy Pedersen and Jim Gasior. MSPC Music Series: Wendy Pedersen and Jim Gasior takes place Sunday, August 16.

Back by popular demand after appearing in the series’ inaugural season, Pedersen and Gasior bring together two longtime figures in South Florida’s jazz community. Pedersen is a vocalist known for expressive phrasing, emotional depth and performances rooted in jazz, soul and popular song. She holds degrees from Florida International University and the University of Miami and has performed at festivals in the U.S. and abroad.

Gasior is a pianist, educator and Associate Professor of Jazz and Instrumental Studies at New World School of the Arts. His performance and recording credits include work with artists across jazz and popular music, including Ricky Martin, Smokey Robinson, Jose Feliciano, Benny Golson, Slide Hampton and Freddie Hubbard. Presented as the final concert of the church’s Summer Music Series, the performance continues a season of Sunday afternoon programs designed to bring music and community into the church’s gathering space.
