Opening: Foot Notes

Footwear, fashion and personal style take center stage during an opening-night celebration at The Wolfsonian–FIU in Miami Beach. Opening | Foot Notes: Shoes, Symbolism, and Society takes place Wednesday, July 1, marking the debut of the museum’s exhibition on shoes as objects of identity, design and cultural meaning. The evening invites guests to arrive in favorite footwear, from vintage and elegant to eccentric or well worn.

Inspired by the exhibition, the program includes bites, refreshments and music by DJ Hottpants. Artist Juanita Villegas will create live two-minute sketches of guests and their standout style, adding a portrait element to the opening-night gathering.

Admission is $10, $5 for members and free for Director’s Circle members.
