Overtime at PAMM: “Twice as Nice” Film Screening and Panel

A 16mm double feature examines Black musical traditions, women’s basketball and the intersections of sport, identity and culture. The program takes place Saturday, August 22 at Pérez Art Museum Miami during the closing weekend of Get in the Game: Sports, Art, Culture. Presented with curator Dr. Terri Francis and the Miami-Dade Public Library System’s AV Club, the afternoon concludes with a panel discussion.

The screening begins with Didn’t We Ramble On (1989), a short film connecting contemporary Black marching bands with West African music and dance traditions. It is followed by Twice as Nice (1989), a feature about twin college basketball players navigating sisterhood and competition.
