Satellite: Beltran & More

Brazilian tech house, Detroit-influenced techno and an eclectic underground approach converge in a late-night lineup led by Beltran at Jolene Sound Room Miami. The party takes place Saturday, October 17 as part of Satellite, III Points Festival’s week of off-site programming across Miami. Beltran is joined by Canadian techno producer Marc Houle and Algerian-born DJ and Memento Records founder Idriss D.

Beltran, born Juliano Beltran in southern Brazil, gained wider attention with the 2022 track “Smack Yo’,” released on Solid Grooves Raw and followed by a growing presence on the international house and techno circuit. Houle emerged from the electronic music community surrounding nearby Detroit and became closely associated with Richie Hawtin’s Minus label before co-founding Items & Things with Magda and Troy Pierce. His productions draw from minimal techno, new wave and the sounds of vintage synthesizers.

Idriss D brings another strand of the underground to the lineup. Raised in Algeria and later established in Italy’s club scene, he founded Memento Records in 2006 and has developed an eclectic style informed by house and techno as well as the funk, disco and traditional Algerian music he encountered earlier in life.

The party unfolds inside Jolene Sound Room, the intimate basement club beneath the Julia & Henry building in Downtown Miami, with a design inspired by midcentury recording studios and 1970s leisure culture. The event is for ages 21 and older.
