Sunday Stories: I Got the Rhythm

Rhythm, movement and hands-on artmaking come together in a storytime program for young children at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. Taking place Sunday, October 4, the session features Connie Schofield-Morrison’s I Got the Rhythm, followed by a related craft activity designed for toddlers and their caregivers.

Inspired by the book’s celebration of the rhythms found in everyday movement, children will decorate their own spin drum, a simple twist-and-tap instrument they can use to create beats of their own. The activity supports early reading, motor skills and creative play while giving families a chance to make art together.

Sunday Stories takes place on the first Sunday of each month and is sponsored by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency.
