The Color Sessions: Miami
Feb 22, 2026
From: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
A guided painting session invites participants to explore color as an emotional language within a Black History Month exhibition setting.
The Color Sessions: Miami takes place at Gato Gordo Gallery as a special edition of the ongoing Enduring the Spark exhibition, offering an immersive experience that blends art, reflection and wellness. Led by artist Jessica Kirby, the session centers on the theme of Inner Spark, encouraging attendees to translate personal emotion and identity into color-driven expression.
The program begins with a brief grounding meditation, followed by an introduction to color theory as a tool for emotional storytelling. Pre-drawn canvases allow participants to focus on building a personalized color palette and engaging intuitively with paint rather than composition. Step-by-step guidance is provided throughout, making the experience accessible to all levels, with room for individual interpretation.
Held in a gallery context during Black History Month, the session creates space for creative reflection and communal making. All materials are provided, and participants leave with a completed painting and a deeper understanding of their relationship to color and creativity.
