An intimate staging of a contemporary two-part epic invites audiences into a story that examines love, loss and generational legacy within the LGBTQ community.
The Inheritance, Part 1 makes its Florida premiere at the Adrienne Arsht Center in partnership with Zoetic Stage, presented in the Carnival Studio Theater as part of the Theater Up Close season. Written by Matthew López, the play has been widely recognized with major theater awards and is often described as a modern counterpart to Angels in America. Inspired by E.M. Forster’s Howards End, López reframes the narrative through the lives of three generations of gay men in New York navigating the aftermath of the AIDS epidemic.
This production features an all-gay cast drawn from South Florida and New York. Performances take place on select dates from January 8 to January 25.
