Pinecrest Gardens honors the legacy of astrologer and television personality Walter Mercado with an exhibition celebrating his life, style and spiritual message of fe, esperanza y mucho amor.
The show features ten of Mercado’s signature costumes alongside original suits, photographs and memorabilia that capture his influence as a Puerto Rican cultural icon and trailblazing LGBTQ figure. For over five decades, Mercado inspired millions worldwide with his uplifting horoscopes and message of universal love.
Walter Mercado: Fe, Esperanza y Mucho Amor is on view at Pinecrest Gardens from November 15 through December 28. A special preview evening on Saturday, November 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. includes tarot readings, graffiti demonstrations and small bites by Tiny Chef. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Gonzalo Rodriguez and Gustavo Blanco Collection.
