On the left-hand side hangs a framed photo of Winston Churchill painting in one of the cabanas during the peak of The Surf Club heyday. Directly opposite is a picture of a yacht, the Marybelle to be exact, which signifies the birth of The Surf Club. Aboard the Marybelle was where tire tycoon Harvey Firestone first had the idea of establishing a unique social club for the elite. However, he could have never imagined the sheer popularity of what he would soon create.
